The Founding Story

Nonprofit ICU Formed To Provide Intensive Care For Nonprofits

Nonprofit ICU helps public charities succeed.

The cost of nonprofit failure is steep: if your nonprofit doesn’t succeed, your mission likely won’t be accomplished any time soon…

“The mission of Nonprofit ICU is to help nonprofit founders start, manage, and grow their nonprofit with lower expenses, less stress, higher revenues and greater impact.”

“My experience from [17+] years in the nonprofit world helps nonprofits significantly reduce the time it takes to get up and running, and increases their likelihood of success. We assist nonprofits in a multitude of ways, primarily focused on website development, fundraising, technology, graphic design, volunteer management, legal filings, marketing, communications, automations, and program development,” said founder Dr. Kerry Kriger.

Dr. Kriger founded SAVE THE FROGS! in 2008 and grew it into a globally recognized amphibian-conservation organization. Nonprofit ICU, founded in 2021, brings that experience to public charities as a Zero2Webmaster brand.

Diagnosis

How Much Should Your Nonprofit’s Website Cost?

“Your website is the single most important piece of technology your nonprofit has.”

The honest answer begins with a better question: how important is your website to you? Priced as a commodity, a website is an expense to be minimized. Priced as the front door of your mission — the thing that educates supporters, attracts volunteers, and processes donations at three in the morning — it is the one piece of technology worth budgeting properly.

Budget in two parts: the upfront build and the ongoing care. Quotes vary wildly because the work varies wildly — a template dressed in your logo and a system designed around your programs are different purchases that happen to share a name.

And whatever you spend, own the result. A site built on a platform you control can move, grow, and be exported; a subscription you rent can raise its price, change its rules, or disappear. The Dispatch’s prescription: pay for ownership first, polish second.
