These events have helped educate tens of thousands of people about the importance of frogs and ways to protect amphibian populations! Because of Save The Frogs Day and our worldwide network of volunteers, the frogs now have assistance all around the planet, and the next generation of humans is growing up with the knowledge needed to protect amphibians from extinction.

The Importance Of Save The Frogs Day
Only a small proportion of the public is aware that frogs are disappearing, and amphibian conservation efforts will not be successful with an un-informed public. Our goal is to make the amphibian extinction crisis common knowledge, and Save The Frogs Day is our best way to make this happen!

Please register your Save The Frogs Day event here so we can send you educational materials and so we can keep an accurate count of the worldwide events!
Registering your event has a multitude of benefits: (1) it enables us to send you Save The Frogs Day tips and resources to assist your event; (2) it enables us to spread the word about your event; (3) it enables us to add your event to the total tally of events, which makes our donors and funders happy.

Save The Frogs Day takes place April 28th Every Year. You can read about the history of Save The Frogs Day to learn why. If you can’t hold an event on that exact day, no problem…choose another day, ideally in April and as close as possible to the official date.
Please review our page with tips for Save The Frogs Day Event Organizers. Check our Events page to determine whether we have any Save The Frogs Day Planning Sessions, Office Hours or Volunteer Sessions coming up; join us and ask your question in a live setting.
It’s up to you to develop an event that will be educational and enjoyable, and that you are capable of organizing. Once the details are known, register your event here.
YES! You likely put hours of effort into your event. Please take the ten extra minutes to register your event. Otherwise, we will be reporting inaccurate information to our donors and supporters, who will think fewer activities took place than actually did. Our goal is MORE frog saving action, so PLEASE be sure to register your event so we can include your event in the totals. Thank you!
You should register as soon as your event details are known. The sooner you register, the more time we have to create a page on our site about your event.
That’s up to you and will depend on what expenses are incurred, whether you have funding or need the additional revenues from ticket sales, and whether you are soliciting donations. Free events likely attract larger audiences. Ticket sales could enable your event to be better in the amount of value you deliver to attendees. It is up to you. If you hold a Save The Frogs Day that is not free, you are required to register your event (of course, everyone should register their events anyway).
We encourage you to take as many great photos as possible during your Save The Frogs Day event! Here are our guidelines for photo submissions:
* Submit your best quality photos (please discard low-quality images)
* Edit and crop photos as needed to highlight the event
* Use relevant filenames that identify the content
* Upload as a downloadable folder via Dropbox or Google Drive
* Submit with your Save The Frogs Day Event Report.
We encourage you to create one comprehensive video that showcases your event. Compile it from your raw video and photo footage, and focus on capturing meaningful moments that tell the story of your event. Then upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and share the link with us when you submit your event report.
You need to promote your event. Don’t depend on us. That being said, if you register your event with ample time before Save The Frogs Day and you provide us plenty of information about your event, we can likely publish it as on our website, which could increase attendance (and enable you to more easily promote your own event).
Anybody can organize a Save The Frogs Day event. We encourage you to team up with a pre-existent local environmental organization, but that is certainly not a requirement.
Using variations on the name Save The Frogs Day can confuse people and spread misinformation. As such, we encourage you to make use of the English name AND possibly a well-thought out name in your own language.
– For Spanish use Día de Salvar las Ranas.
– For Portuguese use Dia de Salvar os Sapos.
– For other languages, please contact us so we can agree on a name.
Please review the SAVE THE FROGS! Academy Fundraising Course. You can apply for a Save The Frogs Day Grant if eligible. And of course, consider seeking funding from the numerous foundations and corporations that fund environmental efforts.
Please gather up all your photos and the positive feedback you received from participants. If you have videos, ideally edit them into a fun video that you add to YouTube or your favorite video sharing platform. Then report your event so that we know what took place and can make use of your best photos, videos, testimonials, etc.
SAVE THE FROGS! offers a limited number of Save The Frogs Day Grants to groups who have held events in the past and seek financial assistance to ensure the success of their upcoming Save The Frogs Day event(s).

The 17th Annual Save The Frogs Day (April 28th, 2025) was a global celebration dedicated to protecting amphibians and their habitats. At least 65 events took place across 23 countries: Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cameroon, China, Colombia, Congo DRC, Finland, France, India, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom, USA, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The 15th Annual Save The Frogs Day took place Friday, April 28th, 2023 and was a huge success! We built a wetland for Illinois Chorus Frogs with us and our volunteers held numerous events worldwide.

The 1st Annual Save The Frogs Day was celebrated on April 28th, 2009 – 41 events across 16 countries marked the birth of the world’s largest amphibian conservation celebration, with programs on six continents. Thanks to the scientists, teachers and students who took part in the USA, Australia, Colombia, Canada, Italy, India, Croatia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Madagascar, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Nepal, Portugal, Switzerland and Taiwan!
