What is Save The Frogs Day?

Save The Frogs Day is the world’s largest day of amphibian education and conservation action, conceived and coordinated by SAVE THE FROGS! It takes place on April 28th every year.

The first Save The Frogs Day was celebrated on April 28th, 2009 — 41 events across 16 countries. Since then, supporters have held over 1,700 educational events in more than 60 countries.

2027 brings the 19th Annual Save The Frogs Day, celebrated worldwide on Wednesday, April 28th.

A day for everyone

You do not need to be a scientist. Teachers hold classroom lessons, students make frog art, families visit ponds and wetlands, and community groups organize walks, talks and cleanups. Frog populations have been declining worldwide at unprecedented rates — nearly one-third of the world’s amphibian species are threatened with extinction — and one day a year, people from all walks of life stand up for them together.

If you can gather a few people who like frogs, you can hold a Save The Frogs Day event — in a school, a park, a library, a backyard or online.
